Los Reyes Canyons is located in the City of Helotes, Texas just outside of northwest San Antonio. Our community rests in the wooded hill country bordered between Government Canyon State Park to the west, Highway 16 to the east, and touching two residential subdivisions to the north and south of us. We are within a few miles of San Antonio and major highway access, convenient to USAA, the Medical Center, Fiesta Texas, Sea World, and La Cantera Shopping.
Our gated, single family residential community is accessed from Hwy 16. Near the entrance, our historic bridge allows you to leave the city behind and enter the 1-5 acre home sites in the tranquil country retreat with hill top views, dense forest, and abundant wildlife.

The community was established and developed by Mr. Tom Dreiss and Mr. Weldon Buell under the name of Los Reyes, Inc. Their vision was to keep the charm of the Hill Country as they developed the neighborhood, and took extra care to preserve the natural environment. They placed utilities underground and winding streets to allow for a more pleasing aesthetics. Los Reyes, Inc. established a Homeowners Association with covenant restrictions to help maintain this vision. The first homes began to appear in 1997 with the development of four units that consisted of 27 lots. The streets--Reyes Bluff, Reyes Ridge, the beginning of Reyes Canyon and Chinquapin--began to take shape. By December of 1997 there were 14 homes built. A few years later, the developers opened up a newer section completing Reyes Canyon, continuing Chinquapin, and adding Escarpment Oaks, and a portion of Revello. The most recent phase was the completion of Revello, adding 27 lots and 73 acres to complete the planned community for a current total of 381.8 acres and 209 custom homes sites.
Los Reyes Canyons is located in Bexar County, and during the early stages of development was within in the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) of Helotes. That changed in 2009 when the Board of Directors and homeowners petitioned to have Los Reyes Canyons released from the ETJ of Helotes. They subsequently requested and received approval from Helotes to become part of their city.

Los Reyes Canyons has an active HOA and is governed by a seven member Board of Directors who are elected to serve a one, two, or three-year term. Our HOA has restrictive covenants which require our Master Design Committee to review and approve building site and landscape plans prior to construction.
